Psyche spacecraft, set to launch on October 12, will explore the asteroid Psyche, a unique metal-rich object that is thought to be the exposed core of an early planet. The mission aims to understand planet formation, examine the interior of differentiated bodies, explore a new type of world, and determine if Psyche is a core or unmelted material. It will carry 3 instruments and a gravity science investigation to study the asteroid's composition, geology, magnetic field, and gravity.
