Small magnitude 3.0 earthquake 25 km northwest of Legnica, Poland

The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported a magnitude 3.0 quake in Poland near Legnica, Lower Silesia, only 8 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023, at 5:25 am local time at a shallow depth of 10 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 3.0 as well.

In Glogow (pop. 68,500, 39 km away), and Jawor (pop. 23,900, 40 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
