Small magnitude 3.2 earthquake 76 km northeast of Östersund, Sweden 3.2 quake Sweden Oct 24, 2023 1:25 pm (GMT +2) A magnitude 3.2 earthquake near Östersund, Östersund municipality, Jämtland, Sweden, was reported only 8 minutes ago by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10.7 km beneath the epicenter around noon on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023, at 1:25 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Hallen (pop. 220) located 31 km from the epicenter. In Östersund (pop. 49,800, 76 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
