An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 occurred 30 minutes ago 17 km southwest of La Troncal, Ecuador, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 28 km beneath the epicenter near La Troncal, Provincia del Cañar, Ecuador, in the morning on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, at 7:20 am local time. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
