Just 17 minutes ago, a 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck near Raton, Colfax County, New Mexico, USA. The tremor was recorded in the afternoon on Monday, December 18th, 2023, at 4:55 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 3 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.9 earthquake as well.
