Small magnitude 3.4 earthquake 45 km southeast of Patras, Greece 3.4 quake Southern Greece Feb 15, 2024 03:24 am (GMT +2) Just 3 minutes ago, a 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Patras, Achaea, Western Greece, Greece. The tremor was recorded early morning on Thursday, February 15th, 2024, at 3:24 am local time, at a very shallow depth of 5 km below the surface. The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it. Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter. Weak shaking might have been felt in Aroania (pop. 46) located 3 km from the epicenter. Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Kalavryta (pop. 1,600) located 20 km from the epicenter, Lankadia (pop. 1,400) 23 km away, Ovria (pop. 5,800) 40 km away, Aigio (pop. 20,400) 41 km away, Paralia (pop. 6,300) 43 km away, and Patras (pop. 168,000) 45 km away. In Pyrgos (pop. 22,400, 53 km away), and Amaliada (pop. 16,800, 56 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
