An earthquake of magnitude 2.9 occurred only 18 minutes ago 22 miles northwest of Geelong, Victoria, Australia, Geoscience Australia (GeoAu) reported.
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 3.9 miles beneath the epicenter near Geelong, Greater Geelong, Victoria, Australia, in the afternoon on Thursday, March 7th, 2024, at 4:24 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
