Moderate magnitude 4.1 earthquake 27 km north of Kingston, Jamaica

The Colombian Geological Service (SGC) reported a magnitude 4.1 quake in Jamaica near Kingston, only 17 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Friday, August 16th, 2024, at 8:01 am local time at a shallow depth of 10 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
