Small tremor of magnitude 2.7 just reported 15 km southwest of Cebu City, Philippines 2.7 quake 30 Oct 1:13 am (GMT +8) Just 20 minutes ago, a 2.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Cebu City, Cebu, Central Visayas, Philippines. The tremor was recorded early morning on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024, at 1:13 am local time, at a very shallow depth of 9 km below the surface. The event was filed by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the first seismological agency to report it. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Cantao-an (pop. 4,200) located 5 km from the epicenter, Minglanilla (pop. 62,100) 6 km away, Naga City (pop. 28,600) 9 km away, Talisay (pop. 133,100) 11 km away, Cebu City (pop. 798,600) 15 km away, San Fernando (pop. 23,700) 15 km away, and Toledo (pop. 156,900) 16 km away. In Mandaue City (pop. 331,300, 18 km away), and Lapu-Lapu City (pop. 350,500, 21 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
