Small tremor of magnitude 3.9 just reported 93 km south of Kalamata, Greece

The National Observatory of Athens (NOA) reported a magnitude 3.9 quake in Greece near Kalamata, Messenia, Peloponnese, only 5 minutes ago. The earthquake hit late at night on Wednesday, November 6th, 2024, at 11:30 pm local time at a shallow depth of 10 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.8.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Dry (pop. 37) located 48 km from the epicenter, Koroni (pop. 1,600) 65 km away, Gythio (pop. 4,300) 81 km away, and Pylos (pop. 2,300) 82 km away. In Kalamata (pop. 54,100, 93 km away), Messeni (pop. 6,800, 94 km away), and Chora (pop. 3,500, 97 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
