Magnitude 4.5 earthquake strikes near Manay, Davao Oriental, Davao, Philippines An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred only 9 minutes ago 98 km northeast of Manay, Philippines, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter near Manay, Davao Oriental, Davao, Philippines, early morning on Sunday, January 12th, 2025, at 1:48 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Kinablangan (pop. 5,400) located 73 km from the epicenter, Baganga (pop. 10,100) 75 km away, Taytayan (pop. 6,900) 77 km away, Baculin (pop. 3,000) 79 km away, Cateel (pop. 6,600) 82 km away, Manay (pop. 20,300) 98 km away, and Bislig City (pop. 67,600) 107 km away.
