Small tremor of magnitude 2.9 just reported 23 km northeast of Paphos, Cyprus

A very shallow magnitude 2.9 earthquake was reported in the morning near Paphos, Cyprus.
According to the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, the quake hit on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, at 7:17 am local time at a very shallow depth of 5. km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
