Moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.6 just reported 59 km southwest of Wamena, Indonesia

A shallow magnitude 4.6 earthquake was reported in the morning near Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, Highland Papua, Indonesia.
According to Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, the quake hit on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, at 10:51 am local time at a shallow depth of 10. km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
