The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 5.9 miles beneath the epicenter near Beaver, Yukon-Koyukuk, Alaska, USA, early afternoon on Friday, August 1st, 2025, at 3:24 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
