The quake hit at a shallow depth of 9.7 miles beneath the epicenter near Daajing Giids, North Coast Regional District, British Columbia, Canada, around noon on Monday, September 15th, 2025, at 1:45 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Daajing Giids (pop. 960) located 43 miles from the epicenter.
