Significant magnitude 5.0 quake hits 95 km southeast of Teluk Dalam, Indonesia in the evening

Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 5.0 quake in Indonesia near Teluk Dalam, Kabupaten Nias Selatan, North Sumatra, only 8 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the evening on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, at 8:16 pm local time at a moderately shallow depth of 34. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
