Cohen5
How are you?
Yes A friend of mine not long ago went on a Holiday in Israel to see her family only to come back home to find herself out of a Job (TARBS).
Pay TV in Australia is a very risky business, Population too small and in summer everyone forgets about the TV, its time for the Beaches/Parks/Etc. Tell me are there plenty of private ownership of dishes in Israel?.In Australia you would be surprised what people have in their front and back yard. Us aussies have some strange hobbies.
Phil

Phil you mention dish for NSS6 up and firing, any ex Tarbs stuff there for you? What receiver you using ? what is your look angle at Brisbane for your65 offset dish ,very low I assume,my dish face is down a degree or two here in se.s aust in relation to horizon.9 dishes?? not a fan of motorized systems,or just to much redundant dish hardware laying about to use?

Yes mine up and running
DON'T get sucked in like most!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To find NSS6 use Lyngsat SATFINDER, Make sure your computer has the correct JAVA2 installed, Now find out you LAT, LONG for you area and use Lyngsat SATFINDER to give you correct ELEVATION and AZIMUTH FOR NSS6.
Like I said DON'T GET SUCKED IN elevation is easy as in Brisbane NSS6 is 20.8 Deg but the Azimuth (not saying what mine is otherwise you come to my front door) Example 286 Deg, but what you have to be careful and I keep forgetting this myself, is don't get confused between true north and magnetic north...If you pick the wrong one, you will find nothing, depending on what compass you have gives either. You would be surprising how many people can pick up NSS6, even looking through trees with a 90cm dish but again rain might affect him as when the tree gets damp it causes intenuation, in other words, loss of signal. I am using a 65cm and a Nokia 9500 and the Nokia in simple terms is about 80% signal strength which is quite good for a small dish. Using an offset dish, you will find the dish is physically looking down so don't get confused. Another trick is most reasonable quality offset dishes are marked on the side degrees in elevation, AS LONG AS YOUR POLE IS 100% STRAIGHT BY USING A SPIRIT LEVEL, THE DEGREES MARKINGS ON THE DISH WILL BE SPOT ON AND IT WILL GIVE YOU A TRUE EXAMPLE FOR BRISBANE 20%+/-. My dish goes from 10-70 degrees if I remember. At the moment there is nothing but promos on NSS6. Like I said before nobody rush into anything and this is very important, anyone who has paid full 12 months in advance for TARBS, don't throw the payment advice away.
Phil

Well Mike Boulos was on SBS Radio (Arabic Info in Melbourne) before this weekend and he said that he was shocked considering what happened to Tarbs
recently, he said that there is no reason to close Tarbs because he
owed only a small amount to Panamsat about $2.5 millions and this
business cost him more than $57 millions/year. He said that maybe it
is a political reason and he will be back soon with a new company on
a different satellite (NSS6??) and all new subscribers will get 3
months free program.
