Significant magnitude 5.1 quake hits 106 km northeast of Nabire, Indonesia in the afternoon

Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 5.1 quake in Indonesia near Nabire, Nabire Regency, Central Papua, only 7 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the afternoon on Thursday, April 9th, 2026, at 4:32 pm local time at a shallow depth of 10. km.
