Well you can believe what you want and only 2 weeks ago someone in NZ said very true words "Quote"

((There may be a lot of english channels around but I can't see TARBS getting anything major and if they do Foxtel will come along and squash them like a bug if they get to big for their boots)).

We all know who the major player is, and Rumours are already flying around in only 24hrs.
See its simple, PanAmSat has new owners. Out of the blue (48HRS)they decide to tell TARBS That they wanted Higher prices for Transponders and ALL paid up front.

If I took over your bank and your Mortgage over your house and told you to pay 12 months or more up front how would you like that.??

Have been told heaps more. Cannot post until I'm allowed, But Don't worry THIS IS NOT THE END OF THIS MATTER. All that can be said is ANYTHING up in the sky that is owned by the YANKS is mud.
First it was Galaxy now its TARBS.
Phil

[ 08. from the kansat newsletter:

PANAMSAT 8, 166.0E

TARBS has gone into receivership this week, their Ku transponders on this satellite have gone quiet. That may mean that many of their encrypted channels will become available – perhaps through Globecast.

hi, well it looks like Tarbs won't be back, what happens to the set top box and satellite dish?
Would it be likely for foxtel to take the channels? Also, the thing that i don't understand is that one day Tarbs was expanding into the philippines and Fiji, the next, receivership, what happened?
Thanks

reuder
TARBS will not be back, But don't throw your box and dishes away Yet, you could be using them again. Remember PanAmSat shut down ALL TARBS transponders not just the Pas 8 ku ones.

Read Phil's post Uruguay, don't rush into it.. He clearly saying that TARBS or the name TARBS will not be back, also only PAS has stopped TARBS using there
transponders Not NSS.
Actually I hope Whetever they want to call it, pops up on NSS6 or 5, I see NSS5 footprint covers Australia.
Steve

Please read carfully the above. y
You are saying that you emailed Foxtel in March and they told you they are looking into foreign channels by the end of July, strange ??? how did they know TARBS was going to fold in July?. You know there is always conspiracy theories around. But I can tell you TARBS biggest mistake was going to the US yes the United States of America, the second was using ANY FUCKING THING THAT IS CONTROLLED BY THE YANKS and its powerful media entrepreneurs.
The name TARBS Australia is dead but for TARBS Europe we will just have to wait and see, SAY NO MORE. Again hold on to your boxes, and for the people that paid up front thats a big mistake, I have said on this forum BEFORE and BEFORE Never allow direct debit or paying up front for a full year in advance its a no, no.

Due to the current circumstances facing TARBS a sale of assets needs to be concluded as soon as possible. Therefore formal offers must be submitted by 5pm on Friday, 9 July 2004.

Hey phill know anything about the channel numbers they are talking about and if all this is true as i can;t find anything on the box???

I'm aware through our call centre that some installers are redirecting subscribers to the NSS-6 satellite," he said.

Some channels were still available, but not on the same channel number as previously allocated on the Tarbs service.

Mr Ishak said installers simply redirected the satellite dishes, but it was unknown for how long the services could be received.

hi, im still receiving a signal through the tarbs box, the little yellow light "Lock" is on, but the screen is black, and that little box, "no signal - rain in area?" does not come on. Also i reset the box yesterday and the time etc was reset also, this morning it has the correct time, date etc. Finally when you go to check the signal meter, it's Signal Level 60, Signal Quality 45. Is this something or nothing?

It means the lights are on but nobody home. Pas playing tricks thats all, Move your dishes to NSS6 for Some of their channels (mine going up on Monday) look at Lyngsat for whats on NSS 6, the TARBS name is gone but some channels still there. In the next few days I will find out whats going on and it won't come from Newspapers, we all know who owns them.

Have a nss6 dish setup for Ku,its own dedicated coax to the Tarbs Box stb3100 with legit sub card, powered up stb,no pics,anywhere.sig.strength 75,quality 2-8 fluctuating on stb sig.meter. reset stb, entered all ku band freq.and s.r.changed polarity H to V and back ,map channels, still nothing no change.seems a firmware issue with the stb3100 unit no go on Tarbs box and NSS6.Just my findings?if anybody has any further ideas,or tips I will give it a go.

You must use a Digital FTA box for the moment, Don't
use the TARBS box it won't work. I will be doing some test next week as on monday I will be putting a 90CM dish up on my roof and its not a easy job to do .

Mike 9481
Yes move the original TARBS dish, get help if you don't know what you are doing otherwise you will be pulling your hair out to find NSS6.

People in WA are very lucky their getting heaps of TARBS channels either on NSS6 or Thaicom 3, For all that live on the east coast of Australia Thaicom 3 at 75deg East is VERY VERY LOW, TARBS could get it in Sydney only because the dish was on top of their building looking over the edge.
Phil
