OP Webmaster Launch Director Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 678,976 Los Angeles, USA	Magnitude 4.6 earthquake strikes near Tobelo, North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku, Indonesia An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 occurred early morning on Saturday, May 30th, 2026, at 4:54 am local time near Tobelo, North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku, Indonesia, as reported by Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency. According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 10. km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 4.6 earthquake as well.
