Moderate 4.7 quake hits near Kendari, Kota Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia

An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 occurred late at night on Friday, May 29th, 2026, at 10:34 pm local time near Kendari, Kota Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, as reported by Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency.
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 10. km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
