Moderate magnitude 4.8 quake hits 83 km northwest of Tobelo, Indonesia early afternoon

Just 8 minutes ago, a 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck near Tobelo, North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku, Indonesia. The tremor was recorded early afternoon on Monday, June 22nd, 2026, at 2:28 pm local time, at an intermediate depth of 91. km below the surface.
The event was filed by Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, the first seismological agency to report it.
