Small magnitude 3.0 earthquake 30 miles east of Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia A magnitude 3.0 earthquake near Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia, was reported only 11 minutes ago by Geoscience Australia (GeoAu), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in Australia. The earthquake occurred at a very shallow depth of 1.1 miles beneath the epicenter early morning on Monday, June 22nd, 2026, at 1:15 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.0 as well. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Goolma (pop. 100) located 17 miles from the epicenter. In Dunedoo (pop. 1,300, 20 miles away), Eulomogo (pop. 1,400, 25 miles away), Wellington (pop. 4,100, 28 miles away), Gulgong (pop. 2,500, 28 miles away), Dubbo (pop. 43,500, 30 miles away), Mudgee (pop. 11,500, 40 miles away), and Gilgandra (pop. 3,100, 42 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
