Just 8 minutes ago, a 2.8-magnitude earthquake struck near Lehi, Utah County, Utah, USA. The tremor was recorded in the afternoon on Friday, August 7th, 2026, at 5:55 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 3.5 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 2.8 earthquake as well.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Saratoga Springs (pop. 25,400) located 4 miles from the epicenter, and Lehi (pop. 58,500) 5 miles away.
