Does anyone knows if the UBI will make the service available to New Zealand, they use the Australian national beam at the moment which can not be received from NZ, Only Aus and Nz beam could be recieved

sherif66
That is a good question!!
I will personally ask UBI that question myself, Although there could be a delay as the Top brass of UBI at the moment are out of the country.
Do you get the Globecast Aus and NZ transponders where you live? and if so what size dish are you using?
UBI are using the High Performance beams and comparing to the Aus & NZ beams of Globecast they differ only a little in power(where I live). There has to be a reason why besides $$$$$$ for the use of the HP beams.
Phil

[ 05. September 2004, 10:31 AM: Message edited by: P Debono ]

Hello P Debono
Thanks for helping,
Yes i do get Globecast beams on Optus B3 from New Zealand, it can be recieved with a small dish 85 cmm, and I'm sure to recieve the UBI beam i need at least 5 meter dish cause you know the rest..
i'm not sure why UBI didnt make the channles recievable from NZ, i think wont be as much different in cost if broadcasted on Aus and NZ beam.

Don't worry I will find out and let you know. There has to be a reason, maybe the majority of Aus & NZ beams are already taken. I have received 13 emails From NZ asking the same Questions. One Arabic guy pleaded with me to suggest to UBI to sell all the new services to NZ. He was told firmly that TARBS on PAS 8, there was no way you could get it but now he was told that UBI on Optus B3, its only a matter of Transponder switch to give Most of NZ all the UBI channels.
Phil

I suspect there is not enough Aus & NZ beams left on B3, Don't worry I will ask UBI again that question.
