Soumith Chintala, a key AI figure from Meta, has joined Mira Murati's Thinking Machines Lab. This follows Meta's unsuccessful attempt to acquire Murati's startup for a reported $1 billion. Chintala's departure marks an 11-year tenure at Meta, where he led PyTorch development. Thinking Machines Lab is also reportedly seeking new funding at a $50 billion valuation.
