Moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.5 reported 45 km north of Taliwang, Indonesia

An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred 32 minutes ago 45 km north of Taliwang, Indonesia, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10. km beneath the epicenter near Taliwang, West Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, early morning on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, at 3:30 am local time. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
A second report was later issued by The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS), which listed it as a magnitude 4.5 earthquake as well. Other agencies reporting the same quake include the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) at magnitude 4.2, the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake at magnitude 4.3, and Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency at magnitude 4.3.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
