COMMUNIQUE
PR/CP(2007)058
Statement by the Secretary General on Duma Ratification of Pfp Status of Forces Agreement
As Chairman of the NATO-Russia Council, I welcome todays decision by the Russian State Duma to ratify the Partnership for Peace Status of Forces Agreement. This agreement will greatly enhance the ability of Russia and the member states of NATO to engage in joint military training and exercises, develop the interoperability of our armed forces, and pursue concrete forms of practical cooperation that enhance our common security.
