Yep Alisa, a lot to ponder on as you say!  If we go with the 'helper' theory, then off the top of my head: Our bodies are of the Earth, the nature spirits are of the Earth, so I would imagine they are tied in with the body aspect, that they would not be part of our soul, but are our helpers while we are in incarnation. They may be our first line of defence against outside influences? My mind is boggling here with the myriad of possibilites and scenarios that are unfolding before me!
