Great descriptions, OMJ. thumbup I appreciate learning from your experiences. The spirit in your old bedroom sounds powerfully oppressive. gloom

I used to have lots of dreams of being chased. chase One dream in particular that comes to mind was of being chased by Freddy Krueger. I was scared of Freddy and the various horror movie icons of the time. I used to be unable to watch scary movies until my husband sorta made me watch them when I was nearly 30. By coaxing me to watch them and sitting through them with me, I desensitized and actually began seeking out the scariest movies I could find, just to see how I could sit through them and laugh. chuckle

Anyway, back to the dream. I was running through a large house from my childhood. No matter where I hid Freddy knew where I was or would find me. The nightmare went on and on until I grew so tired of being afraid that I went to the window on an upper level and jumped out. I fell to the ground with a splat. Then I woke up. (So much for the theory I once heard that if you hit the ground in a dream you die). dunno

These chasing dreams occurred regularly for me in the past. They occur very rarely now, if ever. For me I think it is because I faced my fears by watching horror movies, and then I started learning to face my fears in dreams and reality as much as possible because they otherwise stayed alive or grew.

I remember when I first learned that facing fears erased or minimized them...it was in a dream. During this dream some women moved in across the street from my little house. One of them was huge and very menacing-looking (Amazon woman comes to mind). scaredtwitch She would glare at me aggressively whenever I looked outside. She stomped around and seemed to be waiting for me to leave the house. I was petrified. Finally, I walked out the front door and decided to confront her, even if it meant my demise. She came stomping out toward me and I walked toward her. The closer we got, the smaller she became. She went from about 8 feet tall to 3 feet tall by the time I reached her. She swung her little fists out at me, but I laughed as she was actually no threat at all. elf2

These days, fear is a "red flag" to alert me that something is there for me to face and conquer. samurai Though admittedly, I have not had to deal with an oppressive spirit location like your old bedroom. unsure
