 I agree with OMJ and you both. It's a curious looking little character and does resemble a mask. It's something how most the nature folks don't appear to be exactly make or female. I wonder if that's why there's not mention of female elementals in the hundreds of accounts that I've read.  Very nifty looking 3rd eye or flower too.
