I don't believe in coincidence either.
Boat naming dates back to 1500BC - some say it was as early as 480BC in Egypt... But the point is, back then we only had water bound vessels... But where did the naming stem from?
Also... And this is interesting... Back in those times, boats were almost always war vessels and named after gods and deities (among other things)that would lend a worthy name to the ship.
