This reminds me of what I frequently tell my son when he doesn't want to do something I'm asking of him. I say, "I'm trying to help you become a human." And as funny as that sounds, there is an understanding between us that we are something else entirely in spirit and that we are here to learn about humanity and become human. So when I say that to him, I see a little light come on idea and he usually gets on with what I asked without much hassle.
