LANDSLIDE LAKE IN NORTHWEST PAKISTAN
On January 4, 2010, a landslide occurred in the Hunza Valley of northern Pakistan. The disaster buried the village of Attabad and created a lake that inundated several more villages. By submerging part of the Karakoram Highway, the event cut off an estimated 3,000 people from the outside world.
