Small magnitude 3.1 quake hits 21 miles northwest of San Simeon, California, United States after midnight

Just 6 minutes ago, a 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck near San Simeon, San Luis Obispo County, California, USA. The tremor was recorded after midnight on Sunday 28 February 2021 at 12:48 am local time, at a very shallow depth of 0.6 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.1 as well.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In San Simeon (pop. 460, 21 miles away), Greenfield (pop. 17,200, 34 miles away), Soledad (pop. 25,000, 40 miles away), and Paso Robles (pop. 27,200, 46 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
