4.7 quake 13 Km SSW of Hihifo, Tonga, Apr 28, 2022 7:46 pm (GMT +13)

An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 occurred early evening on Thursday, April 28th, 2022, at 7:46 pm local time near Hihifo, Niuas, Tonga, as reported by the United States Geological Survey.
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at an intermediate to considerable depth of 173.8 km. The strength of the earthquake may have been tempered by its relative great depth below the surface, which makes it feel weaker in absolute terms. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 4.7 earthquake as well. Other agencies reporting the same quake include the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) at magnitude 4.7, and the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) at magnitude 4.7.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Hihifo (pop. 820) located 13 km from the epicenter.
