Significant earthquake of magnitude 5.0 just reported 103 km southwest of Georgetown, Cayman Islands

A shallow magnitude 5.0 earthquake was reported around noon near Georgetown, George Town, Cayman Islands.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake hit on Thursday, June 16th, 2022, at 1:29 pm local time at a shallow depth of 10 km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 5.0 as well. Other agencies reporting the same quake include the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) at magnitude 5.0, and the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) at magnitude 4.5.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Georgetown (pop. 29,400) located 103 km from the epicenter, Bodden Town (pop. 10,300) 107 km away, West Bay (pop. 11,300) 110 km away, East End (pop. 1,600) 117 km away, and North Side (pop. 1,200) 117 km away.
