Moderate yet deep earthquake of magnitude 5.2 just reported 69 km southeast of Espinar, Peru

An intermediate to deep magnitude 5.2 earthquake was reported early afternoon near Espinar, Provincia de Espinar, Cusco, Peru.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the quake hit on Saturday, February 18th, 2023, at 2:31 pm local time at an intermediate to considerable depth of 183 km. The strength of the earthquake may have been tempered by its relative great depth below the surface, which makes it feel weaker in absolute terms. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
