Magnitude 3.2 earthquake strikes near Gandia, Valencia, Spain 3.2 quake 10 Aug 6:31 pm (GMT +2) The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 3.2 quake in Spain near Gandia, Valencia, only 10 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early evening on Saturday, August 10th, 2024, at 6:31 pm local time at a very shallow depth of 5 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. Our monitoring service identified a second report from Spain's Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.3. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Aielo de Rugat (pop. 210) located 14 km from the epicenter, Oliva (pop. 28,400) 15 km away, Gandia (pop. 80,000) 18 km away, Denia (pop. 44,500) 20 km away, Tavernes de la Valldigna (pop. 18,200) 26 km away, Javea (pop. 31,600) 28 km away, and Cullera (pop. 24,100) 29 km away. In Alcira (pop. 44,700, 42 km away), and Valencia (pop. 814,200, 62 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
