Dr. Sandip Ghosh, former principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, was arrested for corruption. The CBI, investigating financial irregularities, acted after the Calcutta high court's directive. Following a tragic rape and murder incident at the college, Ghosh resigned and was later suspended by the Indian Medical Association.
