Small magnitude 3.0 earthquake 57 km northwest of Graz, Austria 3.0 quake 12 Nov 12:11 pm (GMT +1) The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 3.0 quake in Austria near Graz, Graz Stadt, Styria, only 9 minutes ago. The earthquake hit around noon on Tuesday, November 12th, 2024, at 12:11 pm local time at a shallow depth of 14.1 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Trofaiach (pop. 7,700) located 6 km from the epicenter, Eisenerz (pop. 4,000) 10 km away, Donawitz (pop. 3,500) 13 km away, Leoben (pop. 8,300) 14 km away, and Göss (pop. 3,800) 16 km away. In Bruck an der Mur (pop. 9,100, 27 km away), Knittelfeld (pop. 11,500, 27 km away), Graz (pop. 222,300, 57 km away), and Strassgang (pop. 16,300, 58 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
