Small magnitude 3.0 earthquake 10 km southwest of Westonaria, South Africa An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 occurred early morning on Thursday, June 26th, 2025, at 2:15 am local time near Westonaria, West Rand District Municipality, Gauteng, South Africa, as reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 10. km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
