Small magnitude 3.7 quake hits 39 miles east of Carson City, Nevada, United States early morning

The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 3.7 quake in the United States near Carson City, Carson City County, Nevada, only 23 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Thursday, July 17th, 2025, at 3:24 am local time at a very shallow depth of 6.2 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS), which listed it as a magnitude 3.7 earthquake as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.6.
