Just 3 minutes ago, a 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Anchorage, Alaska, USA. The tremor was recorded around noon on Friday, October 24th, 2025, at 12:03 pm local time, at a moderately shallow depth of 41 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS), which listed it as a magnitude 4.4 earthquake as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 4.4.
