Small magnitude 3.9 quake hits 41 miles northeast of Winnemucca, Nevada, United States in the morning

The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 3.9 quake in the United States near Winnemucca, Humboldt County, Nevada, only 7 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, at 9:01 am local time at a shallow depth of 9.9 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
