Moderate magnitude 4.1 quake hits 50 miles southeast of Atka, Alaska, United States around noonThe United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 4.1 quake in the United States near Atka, Aleutians West, Alaska, only 30 minutes ago. The earthquake hit around noon on Saturday, July 25th, 2026, at 1:57 pm local time at a moderately shallow depth of 32 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.1 earthquake as well. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Atka (pop. 64) located 50 miles from the epicenter.
