Hey guys.

I thought id start a thread where people new to satellite installation/setup could learn from our trial and error, and experience.

Could you post to this thread, common problems people may experience when setting up a satellite dish, and how to overcome them.

When we say problems, we mean problems getting your dish/receiver setup to pick up a signal. From anything to wiring/angles/partse.t.c

It could be things you encountered in the past, or things people may encounter when setting up a new install that could save them hours of trial and error.

Lets see how we go!

When setting up a c/band dish on a polar mount always try to find the first satellite in the middle if possible.
I find Pas 2 at 169 Deg East first then go east and west to find the others in the correct arc. My east west limits are Intelsat 701 180Deg East on the EAST limit side, and on the WEST limit side its Asiasat 2 at 100 Deg.
Phil

Never use a TARBS/UBI box to find a Satellite if you have the incorrect freq in it, you will find nothing nor the new freq will stay in it. Always take the tarbs box to a friend place that has B3 allready. Set the freq there then take the box to the new location to find B3 with that box.
