A few years ago my younger brother had his new wagon stolen by a young 15 year old thug and burnt to the ground and it was not insured. The kid was caught and typically the courts they gave him a slap over the wrist, he laughted at us and got off. 7 years later this scumbag still lives in the area, he is married and he has his own kids now. He is now a respectable citizen but he had his car stolen and burnt to the ground. Well you should see and hear the fuss he has caused about his car being stolen, but when this dickhead was young it was a different story.

The reason why I bring this up.

If you read on the austech info forum you will see that dream media has offered a large reward on dobbing in of people selling the Chinese version of the Dreambox which is 95% identical to the original and does all the same tricks for half the price.
So what we have here is dream media complaining about copyright infringements but what I can't understand is that we all know the real reason for dreamboxes, we all know that 90% of them are used to steal pay tv around the world and what we have now is someone stealing from dream media and like the guy above chucking tantrums because his car was stolen they don't like it.
You will always notice this and only last night I watched a DVD and there again was the perfect example. A gang going around killing others but when others come back and kill their family members well what a fuss, typical mafia movie.
I think that Foxtels and co will be laughing their heads off in one way but in another crying because of a cheaper variant of the dreambox 500 is available.
I wonder If dream media now are regretting that they had the original dreamboxes built in China, and now will we see the new 7025 copied and sold for less than half the price of an original.

They are quite entitled to be pissed off in my opinion , they designed it , wrote the software for it.....why wouldnt they be upset ?

Your example has nothing to do with the topic in my opinion. You can buy a DVD writer , are you a crook because you own one ?

australia stuff is not overpriced.once you factor in our 500 plus wages compares to the 2 dollars wages, and all the add ons that go to employ an autralia and we cannot be competitive in price with china.

I buy chinese because i am pissed off at our goverment(and it was the HAWKE LABOUR that started it) killed our industry.

The only thing i dont do is buy name brands that are made in china and want an aussie price for.

I would be enjoying there prices now because in a few years you will be paying JAP prices for their goods, and australia would have lost all those manufacturers and their skilled workforce, and then watch our balance of payments go thru the roof, and we will end up like argentina!

thats my 2 cents worth

mixo

Life is cheap in China and they don't give a shit about us or the rest of the world either. Who else would have their lagest Satellite launching pad only two Kmls away from a heavily populated area and when one of its launchs failed and the rocket made a U turn a whole city was wipped out and the death toll was never know, Again life is cheap who cares if a whole school with over 500 kids died in the incident

My Bro bought a cheap version in from overseas and it seems ok and it does not suffer from the original problem like the genuine ones do. Electric shocks now and then!!

I bet they will be an overseas order job for these boxes, but who knows the local Chinese computer or sat shop might be selling them.

Yes we all know that, they invented the word dodgy and to do what they did and it still swinging in the courts has got me stuffed. All I can say is they must have good Lawyers
I'm getting reports that Dream Media has ran out of DM 500's now if this is the case DM need to look at themselves as this will be the perfect opportunity for the clones to take over. What a mistake!!.

I bet Dream Media has already rang them to see if they're selling the clones.

I would advise you to steer clear of the Dream500 clones. Richtec and greatdvb clones versions DO NOT WORK big trouble Internet realated. Not quite sure what they mean but a Dreambox that won't work on the net isn't much use ;-)
