Vlad, You are absolutally right! but living in the other side of the world does not seem to me suitable for great competitions like mobile phones. When the technology reaches to the level where most channels be transferred all over the world as FTA then prividers will have more options to play with as well as the customers.

When, the technology advances, which is just around the corner now, and semi static content (Like repetitive sat TV content) becomes much cheaper, we won't (thank God) need providers. It'll be similar to the web and IP.
I'm literally counting how many more sleeps to that day
Mind you, when that day comes, the days of providers will be numbered and they’ll be extinct, like dinosaurs!

Vlad, I wish you best dreams for the future expectations, as what you dream of coming true
then, there will be more providers for special channels, and nothingelse will be as profitable as p.rn channels. Time will tell....

fsking,
I think I missed your point here I'm afraid.

...but as far as the porn channels are concerned, there are only so many wankers that would pay for that service. The Internet is filled with it, and plainly, from what I hear, (note: not from personal opinion ) they suck... literally

Absolutely, in the near future we are all going to need just one provider, an ISP with fast connections. All the services will be accessed directly, including mobile telephony, and no need for middle men like Foxtel, UBI, etc. Initially most video services will be free in order to encourage users, like Internet banking now. After that there will be different models competing, like ISP plans now, either pay monthly for unlimited viewing or pay per view or something more innovative, we shall see.

I agree with you for one point as those wankers only checks the disgusting material for free, but if you check around the world specially in Europe, you will be amazed how many people jump to those services not caring the cost. Even now in Australia, there are so many of them encrypted and sold with smartcard only if you have noticed. I'm not a fan of porn channels, but this is the fact that most prividers will be looking to make more profit. Think about Foxtel's nighmoves/adult channels, ppl do not care if it cost $10 extra for a month even when they have the rest.

Europe? Not were I cum from The whole Europe has those channels cracked! Even then they never watch 'em anyway. Yeah sure a teenager here or there to show off in front of his/her friends, but that's it. Europe, unlike Australia, is not glued to their TV sets. They prefer the real thing!
Foxtel porn? Who would watch that? They stick candles, flowers and drinking glasses in front of the "main" part of the camera. Geez, I've seen more real pornography on SBS

I have no friggen comment for the foxtel's nightmoves, its as you said but it does not change the way how australians feels about it. I just made one point as if the channels has limited to show then the last resources will be the most popular staff. As you said, porn channels are sort of free to watch in Europe but only cracked ones and most of them has new encryption systems. The ones are on air as FTA, they are to get your last dollar from yoor pocket with live chat & so on shows...
