Allard Beutel<br />Headquarters, Washington May 21, 2004<br />(Phone: 202/358-4769)<br /><br />James Hartsfield <br />Johnson Space Center, Houston<br />(Phone: 281/483-5111)<br /><br />NOTE TO EDITORS: N04-074<br /><br />NASA ANNOUNCES SPACE STATION SUPPLY CRAFT LAUNCH & DOCKING <br /><br /> The next Russian Progress (14) supply spacecraft for the <br />International Space Station (ISS) will launch Tuesday, May <br />25, and dock Thursday, May 27.<br /><br />To make room for the new spacecraft, the Progress that <br />arrived at the ISS in January will be undocked on Monday. <br />There will be no NASA TV coverage of the undocking.<br /><br />The Progress spacecraft, carrying 3,000 pounds of food, fuel <br />and supplies for the Expedition 9 ISS crew, is scheduled to <br />launch Tuesday from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at <br />8:34 a.m. EDT. There will be no television coverage of the <br />launch, but a status report will be issued when the <br />spacecraft reaches orbit.<br /><br />NASA TV will broadcast the docking live starting Thursday at <br />9 a.m. EDT. The actual docking is scheduled at approximately <br />9:55 a.m. EDT. NASA TV is available on AMC-9, transponder 9C, <br />C-Band, located at 85 degrees west longitude. The frequency <br />is 3880.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical, and audio is <br />monaural at 6.80 MHz.
